While trying to connect to my internetbank, by trying to download my certificate, (it says it uses a microsoft activex and if prompted, i have to accept it) the process is halted, without any further progress. Might this be a BETA-issue or is there some setting in IE 7+that has to be modified first for the activex to be downloaded and installed? Thanks

Internetbanking fails in Vista Beta 2
It could be the IE7 reporting as IE7... alot of banks dont like that yet. There is a post somewhere on here on how to make IE7 report as IE6 to websites.. it helped me with wellsfargo.

Or the use of SSL 2.0. Try to check that option under the advanced tab.

I would suggest caution in modifications possibly affecting Windows security especially when personal financial information is involved.
Personally, if a 3rd party tweak is needed, I want nothing to do with it where it concerns my finances etc.

Have the same issue with my bank. I'm using Firefox for internet banking. Works fine!

Dear all,
Check if your internet banking requires the installation of JAVA. Some banking requires Java to run properly. Note that Java has to be manually installed from Windows XP onwards.
Thanks

On IE7 / Vista, TLS is enabled by default. Thus, if you are trying to connect to a website which is using SSL, it should be supporting TLS and TLS extensions.

Contact the bank directly and ask about IE-7 and Vista support. I am sure the answer will be they do not support Beta products on their web site. That would be prudent policy when dealing with the finances, privacy etc of their customers.

That is not a valid comparison since Firefox is not in Beta. IE-7 and Vista are both Beta.

I am not attempt to compare Firefox and IE7 but just want to provide more information.
It seems that the problem comes from Vista, not IE because Firefox can open the site under WindowsXP but not in Vista

There is really no problem. But if there is a problem, it is caused by the financial institution. They do not support those programs in the Beta version. Once they are out of Beta, most likely support will come quickly. There is nothing Microsoft can do to resolve this. The financial institution will need to make the changes to their system once they decide to support the new version most likely after the Beta is finished. Beta is the key point. Beta is why it is unsupported.

Hey Jupiter lighten up. Don't take offense.
With IE7 beta2 in vista (5384) no internet banking. With opera 9.0 on vista got internet banking. With IE7 beta 3 and sbs 2003 sp1 got internet banking.
The problem must reside with IE7 beta 2 or an incompatibility with vista. It looks like the Microsoft team working on IE has been working through the problems, not my Bank. I will be testing this on xp home and pro later tonight. Looking forward to the next release of IE for vista or the next public build with IE 7 beta 3 or newer.
Now if we just could move that refresh and stop buton to the left side, that would be something. Cheers from Northern Alberta

Do you get banking on the same sites as others can not? Or is it a different bank?
